    Research Achievements:

    Dr. Hu is focused on sustainable mobility solutions, particularly in domains of modeling and control of power/propulsion systems of electrified vehicles in sustainable transportation. He has completed 35 China Invention Patents and around 180 papers (150 indexed by SCI and 30 indexed by EI), most of which are published on top journals in fields of clean energy and vehicle systems for more electric, sustainable transportation, e.g., Progress in Energy and Combustion Science, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Journal of Power Sources, Applied Energy, IEEE Industrial Electronics Magazine, IEEE Transactions on Transportation Electrification, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics, IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid. The sum of impact factors of all SCI-indexed journal papers has exceeded 500. Currently, the total Google Scholar citations are 12307, with more than 11500 cited by others, H-index being 61, i10-index being 120, a Highly Cited Researcher awarded by Web of Science Clarivate Analytics (Top 1% most cited in engineering worldwide), and a Highly Cited Chinese Researcher in the discipline of Electrical Engineering awarded by Elsevier. The most highly cited journal paper has gained 1268 citations, and 38 papers have been cited by more than 100 times. Two papers have been awarded “ESI (Essential Science Index) hot paper”, and 40 papers have been awarded as “ESI highly-cited articles” (TOP 1% most cited worldwide). Two papers have been awarded “Most Highly-Cited Articles” by Journal of Power Sources and Energy, International Journal, since 2011. Three papers have been awarded “Best Most Highly-Cited Articles” by Applied Energy at 2015, 2018, and 2020. One paper has won “Best Vehicular Electronics Paper Award” of IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology. More than 50 academicians and IEEE/ASME/SAE/IFAC Fellows (see some examples below) cited and positively evaluated Dr. Hu’s publications. Moreover, as an independent PI, he has been in charge of numerous research projects of about 20 million CNY. Dr. Hu is an active IEEE Senior Member, IET Fellow, and serves an associate editor for many esteemed journals, including IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Transactions on Transportation Electrification, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Access, Elsevier Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Elsevier Energy, SAE International Journal of Electrified Vehicles, IET Intelligent Transport Systems, IET Electrical Systems in Transportation, IET Power Electronics, MDPI Sustainability, Energies, as well as a guest editor-in-chief/editor for many scientific journals, e.g., IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics and IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics.
