A Warm Welcome to the College of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering.

The history of the College of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering (MVE) dates back to 1935 and is one of the colleges with the longest history and largest scale at Chongqing University.

Based on the efforts of teachers and students from generation to generation, MVE has made significant achievements and produced a range of talented scholars contributing to the rapid growth of China. Our impact, nationally and internationally, has made ourselves known and we have achieved our prestige through China’s “985” and “211” Projects, and more recently, the “Double World-Class” Project. The MVE has several basic researching and talent training platforms, such as the State Key Laboratory of Mechanical Transmission, Chongqing Independent Brand Automobile Association Innovation Center, Experimental Teaching Center of Fundamentals of Machinery, and Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center of Mechanical Foundation and Equipment Manufacturing.

The College has a comprehensive breadth of research expertise in mechanical fields with a range of major national grants, covering secondary subjects of mechanical design and theory, mechanical manufacturing and automation, mechanical and electrical engineering, vehicle engineering, robotics engineering, and industrial engineering. In recent years, to face international frontiers in each research field and meet major national demands, explorative and innovative researches have been carried out based on the Interfacial Mechanics and Meshing Theory, Intelligent Manufacturing Technology and System, Advanced Intelligent Equipment, Intelligent Sensing and Controlling, Intelligent Robot and Unmaned System, New Energy Vehicle, Intelligent Connected Vehicles, and other fields. The college ranked eighth and A- in the third and fourth disciplinary evaluations respectively.

Strengthening our international presence is one key focus; we are now working closely with a range of highly ranked universities around the globe, such as the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, University of Edinburgh, and Queen’s University Belfast in the United Kingdom, Politecnico di Milano and University of Bergamo in Italy, and the list goes on. The National University of Singapore experimental class was set up, and the joint college of Chongqing University and the University of Cincinnati was jointly built to implement the international co-op mode.

The MVE sincerely welcomes excellent students as well as outstanding scholars from all over the world to join us to strive for a first-class mechanical engineering discipline utilizing innovative thoughts and advanced technology. We are keen to hear from you and explore collaboration channels with you and your institution.
