Background of Education and Work Experience

• Yongzhi is a Full Professor at the College of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering, Chongqing University, Chongqing, China. Before that, he was a Postdoc with the Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden from Mar. 2019 to Mar. 2021. He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Beijing Institute of Technology in Mar. 2019 and his B.E. degree in Vehicle Engineering from the Chongqing University in Jun. 2013. He was a Visiting Scholar with the Center for Advanced Life Cycle Engineering, University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland, USA from Sep. 2016 to Mar. 2018.

Research Field

• His research interests include modeling and control of battery management systems and electric transport, with the aim to improve their efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

• Yongzhi has developed many techniques for battery state estimation and continues to focus on new methods to ensure the safe and efficient operation of batteries under all use conditions. He has published many papers related to predicting when the battery will need to be recharged and replaced.
